El Salvador's President Bukele Says Will Start Buying 1 Bitcoin By Cyber Carders 2022
The leader of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, has reported that the US focal point country will start buying one bitcoin (BTC) on an ongoing basis.
The announcement comes three and a half months after El Salvador allegedly last purchased bitcoin in July 2022, when it purchased 80 bitcoins at $19,000 per coin.
According to Purchase Bitcoin Around the world, El Salvador allegedly holds 2,381 BTC at a typical purchase cost of $43,357. This total is essentially based on when the president announced the bitcoin investment, but since no public or on-chain records have been found confirming the purchase, it cannot be verified.
The country has apparently spent $103.23 million on Bitcoin to date. However, since the main cryptocurrency is trading around $16,500, this means its reserves are actually worth $39.47 million, implying a loss of over $63 million.
Tron organizer Justin Sun, one of the biggest names in the cryptocurrency industry, was quick to respond to Bukele's statement, saying: "Starting tomorrow, we will also continue to receive one bitcoin."
